Thank you California Closets for sponsoring this post.
2018 has made me re-evaluate a lot of things in my life. With that came some positive goals for change. One of which meant simplifying my life. As a busy Mom of two girls just under two years apart, running a business, and managing my household, life is quite busy! Disorganization is overwhelming and unfortunately the majority of my life has been very disorganized. In the beginning of the year I started looking at ways that I could lessen my load as a busy Mom, Wife, and Mompreneur. It all started with organization. Today I will be sharing how to organize and simplify your life in some easy steps with California Closets.
It all started with a book called the Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. The idea behind the book is called the KonMari method where you evaluate your life. What sparks joy in your life and what does a clutter free life look like?
This started a whole thought process around my life. Having a one year old who is into everything and can’t be left alone for a second keeps me extremely busy. There isn’t a lot of time to be organizing and cleaning when she’s running around the house. It also made me think what do I want to teach my girls as they get older? When I am organized, I feel like I can conquer the day. I want to give them the skills to be organized as well. With that I also want to be setup for success. However, organization just doesn’t come natural to me. I wanted to employ some help with getting more organized and simplifying the way I store my essentials. It all started with my closet. When I had an opportunity to partner with California Closets I was excited to make this goal a reality!!
1). Consultation: Robin my amazing designer with California Closets out of their Scottsdale, Arizona location assessed my current closet situation and took measurements.
2). Collaboration: We sat down together and talked through our needs in a closet. She offered some amazing suggestions on how to organize and make my closet a lot more efficient. She’s been doing this for years so she had a wealth of knowledge and amazing suggestions!
3). Design Review: She put together four closet designs! I was so excited and impressed with EVERY closet she designed.
4). Installation: They include installation.
1). They can work with my budget: I always had this idea it would be way out of my price range. We were able to take things off and adjust the price in real time so I could easily work within a budget all while still providing a beautiful custom design.
2). California Closets customizes your closet design to your needs: I really wanted an area to organize my jewelry, shoes, hats, and bags and they had various solutions to help.
3). They evaluate your needs and how to improve the way you are currently doing things. Robin my consultant suggested looking at some ways to make my closet a lot more efficient and organized.
4). They don’t just do closets!! They can design pantries, mudrooms, garages, and so much more.
Having an organized closet will help me start the day in the right mindset. I won’t be rushing trying to find things because everything will have a specific place, something that I have learned works wonders when you are naturally disorganized!
When I am prepared for the next day, I sleep sounder, and it reduces my stress. I started preparing items in the evening such as my diaper bag, prepping breakfast, picking out my outfit for the next day. It has helped so much and I am so excited to take my closet to the next step. If you are like me and could use some help with organization, schedule a consultation with California Closets.
1). Prepare for the day the night before!
2.). Plan your outfit for the next day the night before and keep your closet organized. If your clothes and accessories are organized you won’t have to waste time trying to find things in the morning.
3). Make sure everything has a specific place and your items always end up where they belong when you are done with them! It’s easier to do throughout the day as opposed to the end of the day.
