I recently hosted a small flower workshop on how to make a beautiful floral arrangement at my house with a local florist Marilyn Tomblin. It was such a fun morning! It was fun to socialize and I learned so many tips and tricks on making a floral arrangement I had to share with you all! Marilyn has been a florist for years so she was a wealth of information -if you are in the Phoenix area and need a florist her contact information is below. She’s amazing and has a heart of Gold!

Here is my finished arrangement below and my top five tips on making a beautiful floral arrangement:
1). Have a mixture of different colored flowers and different types of greenery. Eucalyptus gives a great drape effect and coloring.
2). Cut your flowers 1.5 times the height of the vase you plan to put them in
3). Use wire to hold your arrangement together once you complete it (you can also use a tape grid to easily arrange your flowers in the vase like below).
These are must have tools (click the image to purchase)
4). Use your hand to hold the arrangement or utilize the grid above and always start with the greenery first then fill in with a mixture of different flowers at varying heights with the tallest flowers in the center and greenery cascading over on the sides.
5). Be sure to cut any leaves that are in the water or your flowers will wilt sooner. Also Marilyn shared another great tip on how to change out the water in your vase without ruining your arrangement. Fill up your vase with water let it overflow until the water is fresh at the bottom. This way you don’t have to redo your bouquet by taking out the flowers then dump out the excess water.
Marilyn designed this arrangement above in seriously a few minutes see the before I put together below (don’t judge my skills this was before the floral workshop ha!)
It’s always more fun to arrange flowers with friends :). My talented friend Jenn who is a blogger!
