Creating A Summer Backyard Retreat

I am so excited to share the backyard retreat I have created with At Home!  My backyard was extremely bare and boring before.  I really want to enjoy our backyard for summer and we love entertaining so this backyard redo was a must.  I wanted to create a backyard retreat that was functional, colorful for summer, and allowed me to entertain and enjoy my yard more!  At Home is one of my favorite home stores since it allows me to decorate my home beautifully on a budget and they have pretty much everything you could imagine for your home from outdoor items, furniture, rugs etc..  They have over 500 new items a week so they always have something new including amazing seasonal items as well.

My top 5 essentials for creating an outdoor retreat:

1). Seating area with pillows to add color

2. Add a rug for a pop of color and to make the space more defined

3. Add lots of candles/lighting, At Home has really cute Citronella candles like the the tins pictured above as well as colored glass. They also have the BEST lantern selection.  Lanterns are my weakness love the mood they create.

4. A drink station is a must especially during summer and for outdoor entertaining!  I absolutely love this drink dispenser and cart I purchased from At Home.

5.  Make it functional with fun tables to set things on.
