How To Design a Modern, Fun Girl’s Dream Room
I am so excited to share today how to design a modern, fun girls’ dream room! Designing kid’s rooms have always been a passion of mine. Whether its for clients or for my own daughters I enjoy the process in creating unique, fun, comfortable spaces for little ones to enjoy! It can be a sanctuary for them to play, rest, and create in. There are 6 key steps into creating a fun kid’s space! Sharing today some fun tips and tricks for how to design a modern, fun girl’s dream room!
How To Design a Modern, Fun Girl’s Dream Room:
1) Pick a fun wallpaper!
Don’t be afraid to be bold on the walls. Wallpaper can add a unique and fun interest and color to the walls!
We added a bird and flamingo wallpaper to create the main focal point when you walk into the room. The other vignettes in this room were created to help balance this bold wallpaper.
2). Add some fun chairs to the space
Hanging chairs and a small seating area with an accent table get used all the time in this space! Hanging chairs are always fun for kid’s spaces and they add a whimsical element.
3). Add some fun artwork on the walls
I recommend mixing artwork and wall decor. We used feather Juju hats for our wall decor along with abstract custom art, and printables that we had framed. We love mixing textures in the spaces and it overall helps the space feel more finished.
4). Pick Unique Window Treatments
Don’t be afraid to add some pattern to your window treatments! We added some fun roman shades and had pillows created in the same fabric.
5). Add some pretty lighting in the space

6). Incorporate fun textiles
We put in the space washable soft rugs, cozy pillows, and blankets to make the space that much more comfortable. Comfort is key!
