Happy Wednesday! I am going to be starting a new blog series with you all and sharing some amazing interior inspiration! Today, I am so excited to share this adorable nursery I came across this past month and had to share with you all. It’s from the sweetest Mama Karley that I met through social media. She designed the cutest boho baby boy nursery for her eight month old son Oakley. How cute is that name by the way? I am so excited to share with you all today my interview with Karley and her son’s adorable nursery!!

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I am a mama to 2 kiddos (Saylor 2.5 years old & Oakley 8 months old) and wife to the sweetest man ever. I am living out my dream life getting to be a stay at home mom to my two littles. I never miss a moment with them, which is both amazing and exhausting at the same time ;). Some of my favorite things include babies, interior design, the beach, nature, the sunshine, healthy and wholesome eating, and all things rattan. My side gig includes selling Juice Plus. I am forever grateful for my sweet family and this wonderful life the Lord has given me!

What inspired your nursery design?

We named our son Oakley (Oak) after a large oak tree. We felt it was a very masculine name, and even though we hadn’t yet met our son, we just had this idea he would be a big kiddo. We thought the masculine name would suit him well. I wanted a neutral, classy, modern, yet masculine nursery. I always knew I would want a woodland themed nursery, and ever since we found out we were having a boy, I just felt like woodland and an oak tree went hand in hand, I felt like it was masculine and boho, yet still quaint and modern enough. Fun fact, my son Oakley has been “off the charts” every single doctor appointment since birth. 99 percentile for weight, height and head circumference. He is the chubbiest little dude I have ever seen. Little man inspired his own nursery ever since he was in my belly, as I got to know him for 39 whole weeks before we officially met!

How did you go about designing your nursery?

I wanted something boho, yet modern, with touches of a Turkish feel. I have loved the new “fad” of the mid-century modern decor, which has been so fun to incorporate into Oak’s nursery. Painting an accent wall in Oakley’s room was a big step for me. EVERY other wall in my house is white. I love white walls…I think it’s both refreshing and airy, but I wanted Oak’s room to be different. I wanted to go out of my way to make this room special for this sweet little dude. We went with a dark navy/charcoal accent wall, with white adjacent walls to help make the room pop. I searched high and low for the perfect Turkish rug. Lastly, I love pops of green from real indoor house plants, not to mention it cleanses the air, and who doesn’t want their nursery to have fresh air?

What things did you learn along the way?

I learned that it’s okay to not stick to one particular style. I initially stressed out over the fact that I didn’t know if I wanted a more modern, farmhouse, boho nursery. I learned that this is OKAY! I, 100% believe that you can mix and match styles (to a degree). you can find different things that go together and work. In the end, the most important thing is that YOU like it and that you’re happy with your work. Decorating a nursery is one of the most exhilarating things as you anticipate a new life that will be coming into the world and spending A LOT of time in his or her room, so have fun with it. Don’t let it become a stress factor. Rejoice in your little one’s future life as you decorate that sweet and special space. 

What are your favorite go-to baby products that you can’t live without?

Beco woven baby carrier…I wear Oakley for one of his naps almost daily!! Also, the Dockatot is a life savior. My 2.5 year-old is still currently obsessed with hers, as is my 8 month old. Bookbag diaper bag to be handsfree. I LOVE my freshly picked leather one.
